Good Foods Chapter 2
We recently
made the difficult decision to close our Chapter 2 business unit located in the
Downtown Central Library. Good Foods has been proud to serve the downtown
community for eight years
and this decision was not made lightly.
With the change in the downtown economic climate over the last few years, the market shifted past our allowable tolerance. We opened Chapter 2 as a coffee bar and deli in February 2004 and saw good growth for four years. But when buildings in the next block were pulled down to make way for the proposed CentrePointe project and the recession slowed food service sales all over Lexington, Chapter 2 was hard-hit. We worked with our staff and management at the Lexington Public Library to ensure a smooth closure. Chapter 2 closed on March 30.
We commend and thank Manager Eric Sutherland and his staff for the superb work and dedication they’ve given Chapter 2 over the last 8 years! We also thank the owners and other patrons who have supported Chapter 2 since its inception.
