BETTER EATING FOR LIFE – FABULOUS FRUIT. Eating more fruit is one of the easiest steps to take for most people. Besides discovering ways to incorporate fruit into your menus, you’ll learn how to turn simple fresh and frozen fruit into delectable fruit desserts. Also discover fruit-derived supplements that might benefit you and your family. Sampling plus plenty of recipes included! As an added not-fruit-related-bonus, particularly of interest for those with young children or with allergies/multiple-chemical sensitivity, learn about the benefits of more natural cleaning products and body care products. Also take home the lesson, Nibble Your Way to Great Nutrition.

For over 30 years Jerome Lange has refined his organic farming techniques on his Casey County farm. Get your vegetable garden off to a great start with tried and true advice from one of Kentucky’s pioneers in sustainable farming.

JEWELRY MAKING - Bracelets. Jewelry making made simple. Learn tools, supplies, types of beads, design plans, and the best places to get materials. This month the class will make a bracelet. In April, the class will make a necklace.

BEGINNING CROCHET. Learn chain stitch, single crochet, and how to pick yarn and supplies. Learn how needle size impacts your project. We will be making a scarf with single crochet and two skeins of yarn. We will look at patterns and go through the basics of reading a pattern. Class is for beginning students and students that need a refresher on how to get started. Printouts will be provided. Bring size Q, R, or S crochet hook and 2 different colors of 7 oz skeins of worsted wool crochet yarn.

BETTER EATING FOR LIFE – FIT IN FUN FOODS. Healthy eating doesn’t always mean never eating desserts. Learn about various alternatives to common white sugar and high-fructose corn syrup, and how for some people, they can be used to fulfill their fun food “requirement” without sacrificing health. Learn info about insulin resistance, diabetes, and low blood sugar, and pointers to help prevent or control them. Take home a variety of recipes using alternative sweeteners.
