Apple & Sausage Patties

 

1 Lb. Pork Sausage – Meat Dept.               

1 Green Apple, peeled, grated - Produce

¼ Cup Dry Bread Crumbs – Aisle 3            

2 Tbsp Heavy Cream – Aisle 1

1 Egg Yolk – Aisle 1                                

½ Tsp Salt – Bulk Aisle 5

¼ Tsp Ground Pepper – Bulk Spices          

½ Tsp Sage – Bulk Herbs

¼ Tsp Chipotle – Bulk Spices                   

Canola Oil for Cooking – Aisle 3

 

In a bowl, combine sausage, apple, bread crumbs, cream and yolk and stir until well blended. Stir in the salt and pepper. Divide the mixture into 12 equal portions and shape each into a patty 2 inches in diameter and ¼ inch think. Arrange patties on baking sheet and refrigerate for 15 minutes. Bring to room temperature before cooking. Preheat oven to 200˚F. Place a large fry pan over medium-low heat and lightly brush with canola oil. Place 4 of the patties in the pan and fry until browned on one side, about 3 minutes. Flip patties and brown other side until cooked, about 4 minutes. Transfer the patties to a dish and keep warm in the oven. Cook remaining patties in the same way, oiling pan between batches.
