Baked Bosc Pears on the Half Shell

  • 3 Bosc Pears – Produce
  • 1/4 C Thompson Raisins – Packaged Bulk
  • 2 Tbsp. Chopped Nuts (pecans work well) – Bulk Aisle 5
  • 1/2 C Water
  • 1 Tbsp. Horizon Organic Butter – Aisle 1 Refrigeration
  • 1/4 Cup Sucanat – Bulk Aisle 5
  • 1/2 Tsp. Frontier Organic Ground Cinnamon – Bulk Herbs & Spices

 

Halve and core pears. Then fill centers with raisins and nuts. Combine remaining ingredients; bring to boil and pour over pears. Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit, for 45 minutes or until tender. Baste frequently with syrup.

Serves 6

Variation: Substitute mix of 1/3 cup snipped dates, 1/2 tsp. grated orange peel & chopped nuts - for the raisin & nut filling.
