Baked Tofu Nuggets

 

 

1 16oz Package White Wave Firm Tofu – Aisle 1               

3 Tbsp Wheat Germ – Bulk Aisle 5

2 Tbsp Cornmeal – Bulk Aisle 5                                 

½ Tsp Salt – Bulk Aisle 5

½ Tsp Granulated Garlic – Bulk Herbs & Spices              BBQ Sauce or Ketchup – Aisle 3

 

 

Preheat the oven to 400˚F. Cut the tofu into ¾-inch-thick slices. Blot well between several layers of paper towel, and then cut into ¾-inch cubes. Combine the wheat germ, cornmeal, salt, and granulated garlic or onion in a mixing bowl. Add the tofu chunks and stir gently until evenly coated. Arrange the tofu on a lightly oiled non-stick baking sheet. Bake for 15 minutes, stirring once or twice during this time, or until golden. Nuggets will become firm and chewy as they bake. Serve at once with sauce of your choice for dipping or topping.
