Greek Charoset

  • 1 & 1/4 Cup Medjool Pitted Dates, finely chopped – Packaged Bulk
  • 1 Large Organic Orange, peeled and cut into pieces – Produce
  • Frontier Organic Ground Cinnamon, to taste – Bulk Herbs & Spices 1/2 Cup Wildflower Honey – Bulk Aisle 5
  • Frontier Organic Ground cloves, to taste – Bulk Herbs & Spices 1/2 Cup Almonds, finely chopped – Bulk Aisle 5
  • 1/2 Cup Walnuts, finely chopped – Bulk Aisle 5 5 oz. Kedem Kosher Grape Juice – Aisle 4

Remove the seeds from the orange, add chopped dates and mash together into paste. Put the paste and honey in the top of a double boiler gently simmering water. Stir constantly with a wooden spoon for 20 minutes or until it is quite thick. Add the cloves, cinnamon, and grape juice, and simmer until very thick. Remove from heat, stir in the chopped nuts and turn into a large bowl to cool.

Yield 3 Cups
