Hummus
- 1 and 1/2 cups Hummus mix - Bulk Aisle 5
- 1 and 1/2 cups cold water
- 2 tbsp. olive oil - Aisle 3
- 1 to 2 tbsp. fresh lemon juice - Produce
Add cold water, olive oil, and lemon juice to hummus mix. Mix, stirring with a wire whisk or a fork, until thick. Blend in a food processor if you prefer a lighter, creamier texture.
Makes 8 1/4 cup servings
Hummus Serving Suggestions:
- Serve as a sandwich spread in whole grain pita pockets. Stuff pockets with tomatoes, lettuce, sprouts, and avocado slices.
- Serve as a dip with small wedges of toasted whole grain pita pockets, crackers, or sliced raw veggies.
- Serve as a sauce for falafil stuffed pita pockets, thinning with more water and fresh lemon juice.
