Kielbasa & Kraut

  • 2 Lbs. Eden Organic Sauerkraut - Aisle 3
  • 1 Large Organic Onion, sliced - Produce
  • 1 Lb. Wellshire Kielbasa Turkey Sausage - Meat Dept.
  • 2 Tbsp. Horizon Organic Butter - Aisle 1
  • 1 Large Orgainc Apple, pared, quartered, cored, & sliced - Produce
  • 1/2 Tsp. Frontier Organic Caraway Seeds - Bulk Herbs & Spices
  • 1/2 Tsp. Frontier Organic Leaf Marjoram, crumbled - Bulk Herbs & Spices
  • 2 Tbsp. Hain Organic Brown Sugar - Aisle 2
  • 1/2 Cup Water

Drain sauerkraut & rinse under cold running water. Saute onion lightly in butter. Stir in drained sauerkraut, apple, brown sugar, caraway seeds, marjoram, & water; bring to boil. While mixture heats, make deep cuts, 1-inch apart in kielbasa. Lay on top of sauerkraut mixture; cover. Bake at 325 fahrenheit for 1 hour & 30 minutes. Stir several times and add more water, if needed, or until kraut is soft & delicately browned. Serve with freshly boiled potatoes and prepared mustard.
