Mac and Cheese and Hot Dogs

After preparing this dish for two of my grandchildren, six-year-old Carrington tasted it and immediately said, “We want the recipe!” I topped Granddaddy’s and my servings with the chopped onions, pickle relish, and a bit of mustard. He liked it too!

  • 1 box Hodgson Mill Whole Wheat Macaroni & Cheese Dinner – Aisle 3
  • ½ to 1 package Shelton’s Uncured Chicken Franks - Freezers, or Smart Dogs Tofu Pups – Aisle 1
  • 1 small chopped onion - Produce
  • Bubbies dill pickle relish – Aisle 1
  • Woodstock Organic Stone Ground Mustard – Aisle 3

(Some ingredients are optional for adult servings.)

Prepare macaroni and cheese as directed. Brown the hot dogs along with the onions in a skillet coated with nonstick spray. Cut hot dogs into ½-inch slices (even smaller for youngsters). Mix macaroni and cheese with the cut-up hot dogs and serve to the children. Top the adult servings with browned onions, dill pickle relish, and prepared mustard.
