Quick Swiss Chard Supper

  • 1 Bunch Swiss Chard, washed & coarsely chopped – Produce
  • 2 Cloves Garlic, chopped & pressed – Produce
  • 1 Tbsp. Olive Oil – Aisle 3
  • 1 Can Eden Organic Black Beans, drained & rinsed – Aisle 2
  • Heavy Whole Grain Bread, such as Ezekiel 4:9, toasted –Freezers or Aisle 2
  • Unrefined Salt & Pepper, to taste – Aisle 2

 

Note: if chard is more matured, but stems aren’t woody, separate stems from leaves, slice and add to pan a few minutes before adding leaves.

 

Heat oil in pan and then sauté garlic for a minute over medium heat.  Add stems & sauté a few minutes before adding the leaves.  Cook leaves about 6-8 minutes.  Add beans, toss to combine with chard & heat throughout.  Pour over toasted bread.  Add salt & pepper, to taste and serve immediately.
