Spicy Double Cheese Straws
- 1 Cup King Arhtur's All-Purpose Flour - Aisle 2
- 1/4 tsp. Simply Organic Ground Red Pepper - Aisle 2
- 1 Cup Grafton Vermont Cheddar Cheese - Cheese Dept.
- 1/4 Cup Heini's Butter - Cheese Dept.
- 2 Tbsp. Parmesan Cheese - Cheese Dept.
- 1/8 tsp. Salt - aisle 2
- 3-5 Tbsp. Cold Water
- 1 Organic Valley Egg, beaten - Aisle 1
Combine flour, red pepper, & salt in a large mixing bowl. Using pastry blender, cut in cheddar cheese & butter until pieces are the size of small peas. Sprinkle 1 Tbsp. of water over part of the bowl. Repeat until all of the flour mixture is moistened. Shape dough into a ball. On a lightly flourd surface, flatten dough with your hands. Roll out dough to form a 10' square. Brush with egg & sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. Cut dough into 5x12' strips. Place strip 1/2' apart on a lightly greased baking sheet. Bake at 400 degrees for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool on wire rack. Makes 40 crackers.
