Stovetop Macaroni & Beef

  • 1 lb. Ground Beef or Turkey - Meat Dept.
  • 1 Organic Medium Onion, chopped - Produce
  • 1 Organic Medium Bell Pepper, seeded & chopped - Produce
  • 15oz. Muir Glen Tomato Sauce - Aisle 3
  • 15oz. Muir Glen Diced Tomatoes - Aisle 3
  • Non-Stick Spray - Aisle 3
  • 1 & 1/2 Cups Water
  • 1 Tbsp. Frontier Organic Italian Seasoning - Bulk Herbs & Spices
  • 2 Cups Whole wheat Elbow Macaroni, or rie pasta for a gluten-free dish - Bulk Aisle 5
  • 1/4 Cup Parmesan Cheese, grated - Cheese Case
  • 2 Cup (about 1/2 lb.) Horizon Organic Mozzarella Cheese, shredded - Cheese Case
  • 1 Tsp. Minced Garlic - Produce
  • Salt & Pepper to taste - Aisle 2

Spray large skillet with non-stick cooking spray. Start browning meat, adding onion and bell pepper when meat is partially cooked, stirring frequently until meat is browned, about 15 minutes. Stir in tomatoes, tomato sauce, water, garlic, and Italian seasoning. Season to taste with salt & pepper. Stir in macaroni, cover the pan and simmer over medium-low heat for 15-20 minutes stirring frequently until macaroni is tender. Stir in cheeses. Taste and adjust the seasonings as needed. Serve immediately. Serves 4-6
