Save money and reduce packaging in our bulk aisle. Buy as little or as much as you need.
Check out our large variety of conventional and organic dried beans, rice, whole grains, flours, nuts, seeds, trail mixes, unrefined oils, dried fruits, local honey, vinegars, salts, sweeteners, candies and grind-your-own nut butters.
We love it when you bring your own container/bags. It’s a sure way to decrease landfill waste and a great way to reuse items from your own kitchen! Use the following instructions to bulk like a boss.
Some terminology to help you with BULK
TARE: We use the word TARE to denote the weight of the container you bring so you don’t get charged for the weight of the container, just the bulk product you selected.
PLU: All of our bulk items have a special number we call a PLU. Writing this number on a strip of tape and placing on your container/bag helps our cashiers weigh your selection correctly.
Put it all together.
Step one
If you brought a container from home, TARE your container/bag by placing on the scale and writing the number on a strip of tape. Apply this to your container/bag. Then fill with your selection. (If you’re using one of our provided containers or bags you won’t need to provide the TARE, they’re already programmed in our cash registers!) Secure with a twist tie or lid.
Step two
Write the PLU on the strip of tape. Now you are ready to check out.
Our cashiers enter the TARE and the PLU of the item when you check out.
