ONLINE: Advanced Care Directives and Funeral Planning

Prepare a “living will” using the Five Wishes Guide, and learn about your funeral options with Bluegrass Death Doula, Lauren Hunter-Smith.
Students will complete their Advanced Care Directives (Living Will) using the Five Wishes document, explore their funeral options and begin to make plans. An Advanced Care Directive is a legal document that outlines your wishes if you cannot make decisions yourself. The Bluegrass Death Doula (Lauren Hunter-Smith) will guide you through each aspect of completing your directives while informing you of your rights and educating you about the options you have as you enter the end of life. This class will also cover different funeral types and green body disposition. Completing Advanced Care Directives is a great way to open a conversation about death with your loved ones and is recommended to anyone wishing to gain some control over their end of life.
This class will be held ONLINE via Google Meet. A packet of documents will need to be picked up at the Co-op prior to the class date. Tickets are $34 general admission, $29 for owners and can be purchased here.
Discounts are available for seniors (65+) or individuals under palliative care. Reach out to kathrynd@goodfoods.coop for more information.
