CANCELED: Seeds, Sprouts & CSAs Spring Festival

UPDATE: Due to recommendations on limiting gatherings during this time, we have canceled the event. But that doesn’t mean you still can’t take something from it! We are keeping the Facebook event page up so we can share info about our local CSAs and community partners. Feel free to check out the links to the pages below to learn more about each!

Make sure to head over to our Community Room to take advantage of these awesome workshops throughout the event:

11 – 11:30 am : Water Cycle Restoration Using Permaculture

Part of Lexington Water Week, Nachie Braga of Geomancer Permaculture LLC talks about how humans have disrupted the water cycle, what we can do to restore it and how water holds the secret to combating climate change.

11:40 am – 12:10 pm : You Have a Compost Pile, Now What?

Join Seedleaf to troubleshoot your common composting problems. Whether you’re new to composting or just looking for ways to make your compost into a richer soil additive, bring your questions and quandaries.

12:20 – 12:45 pm : Kids Activity – Egg Carton Starter Garden

Kids of all ages are invited to come make their own mini garden out of a paper egg carton. Once sprouted, these plant starts can be transplanted directly into a garden or outdoor planter once the weather warms up, paper carton and all.

1 – 3 pm : Stitch It Don’t Pitch It Workshop

Join members of Lexington’s Citizens’ Environmental Academy as they create plastic-reducing, reusable items out of fabric scraps. Jump behind a sewing machine to make your own utensil and straw pouch or produce bag, or simply pick out a fabric and let the volunteers make one for you.

🍃🌱 If you have seeds to donate to our seed swap, please label them and drop them off at our Hospitality Desk before the event. Thanks for spreading the love! 💖🌿
