We’re going green and BLUE for Earth Day!

In an effort to curb our contribution to plastic waste, on April 22—Earth Day—we will stop offering a plastic bag option at the front registers. We will also cease taking bags from shoppers to reuse. While we are sensitive to the sustainability impact of discontinuing this program, the reality is it takes more than 1,000 years for one of these bags to break down in a landfill.

So, what does this mean for you, when you’ve hit the end of the register and are gathering your bread, milk, and to-go container of Good Foods kale? We will continue to offer paper bags at no cost to you. Ours are made from 100% recycled material and are Rainforest Alliance Certified. And we still encourage you to bring your favorite bag from home. We even donate 10 cents to our Give Where You Live Partner every time you do.

To celebrate this new green initiative, we will be handing out blue reuseable bags on Wednesday, April 22 to the first 200 customers!
